Ah, Spring...
The bloom is all but gone from the Saucer Magnolia (Magnolia x soulangiana) that resides in the yard. I took the picture just past the pinnacle of this years bloom. I love this tree. It blooms early in the spring if the temperatures are right and then greens for the rest of the summer. It's a thrilling change to watch. The petals blow down in streaks of pink and white when the wind blows. The time it takes to bloom and lose all petals is about a week and a half.
